Do you use any over-load/under-load training to increase speed??

You are correct. In golf, speed is more important than absolute strength. But, increased strength has to come first before increased speed can occur. Training with heavy weights only slow down speed if the athlete is not simultaneously training for speed. Resistance training + speed training + increased mobility/flexibility is the best approach. speed might be more important than strength. the heavier weight SLOWS down the speed.

"I coach golf and what formula that seems to work well for my players is off season = more weight less reps...during season = less weight and higher reps.  Include a lot of stretches regardless of in or out of season."
