Do to popular demand, I thought I better get this posted as soon as possible. A few of you have asked what are the kettle bell golf throws that I do with Vijay.
Kettle Bell Golf Throws - I have not heard of or seen any other golfer doing this particular exercise. It will increase your golf functional strength and golf power. Try it out!
We use (2) 5 lb., (2) 10 lb., and (2) 15 lb. kettle bells. These can also be performed with some old dumbbells. For a right handed golfer, get into your golf setup stance while holding a 5 lb. kettle bell in your left hand. Always start with your lightest weight. Hold the kettle bell as if your are holding your club with your left hand. Place your right hand on your left wrist for support. While keeping your left arm straight, take the kettle bell through your complete backswing and complete your turn. Once you get to the top of your backswing, swing the kettle bell through your impact zone and let the kettle bell fly out of your left hand just after impact as you get through the ball and onto your left side. Start slow and then build up more speed as you get warmed up. The goal is to throw the kettle bell as high and far as possible. Pay no attention to where the kettle bell goes. Just complete your turn at the top, pull down with your left arm as hard as you can through the impact zone and then naturally release and let the kettle bell fly! Perform kettle bell throws with both sides of the body to not create any muscular imbalances (left handed as well as right handed). Do 2-4 sets of 6 throws (reps) per side.
Try this for more strength and power in your golf swing!
